My phone was on when I got home from work Friday! It's about FREAKING time!!! LOL!
Ryan called me today, and we just stayed on the phone a minute, but how sweet is this: He just called me to tell me he loved me....so he told me he loved me about three times, made sure everything was okay with me.....then said he loved me and would talk to me tomorrow!! Now, ya'll probably don't know why that is such a big deal to me, so let me explain....Normally we only talk twice a week...once on Tuesday and once on Saturday, because I have been having to go to his mom's house to talk to him, since my phone wasn't working....so for him to just be able to call me and talk for just long enough to tell me he loves me any time he wants to....Well, it was great!!!!
Okay, so as you all know, I am planning my wedding....even though it is not scheduled to happen until 2009....I just feel like I have to plan it, like maybe that will make the time go faster and make it happen sooner or something!!!
So this lady I was talking to about the photography told me about something they do for their brides and grooms....here, let me quote what she said so I get it right.....
"We have a system that we have used very successfully over the past few years. It allows the bride and groom to see each other just prior to the wedding with no one else around. It is called a bridal presentation. The bride is positioned (or the groom ) in a certain place and if possible, their favorite song is playing in the background. The bride walks (or groom) to the other and they spend a few minutes alone. Then the photographer comes and takes photographs. Most who have chosen that say it was the best part of their day. Sometimes if a bride / groom realize where the tradition of not seeing each other prior to the wedding orignated , they understand that it isn't that important. It comes from the fact that years ago (and even today in some countries) the couple didn't see each other prior to the wedding because the wedding was arranged by their parents."
So then she said:
"It is something that has caught on fairly well and it is something that is special. I tell my brides that they only THINK that the groom is looking at her thinking she is the most beautiful person he has ever seen when actually the thoughts going through his head are more like" Gosh, I hope my fly is zipped" or "I hope I don't step on her dress when we start up the steps" or "Wow ! I wish all of these people would quit looking at me while I'm standing here waiting on her. I know they just want to see my reaction when she walks in but it's making me nervous." Or, they are thinking "I hope I don't forget my lines". And the bride is much the same way; thinking thoughts other than for her groom. When it is just the two of you together for the first time without an audience, you can truly concentrate on each other. "
And then:
"We started the concept several years ago and it is being used by several photographers now. We just thought the idea was so reasonable because a couple need that reassurance from each other that things are well and that they are exactly where they have chosen to be. And, it gives the couple time alone without the eyes of guests watching them. As photographers , we set this up and then we leave before the couple see each other so they are alone. In a few minutes, we walk in and tell that couple that they may now kiss each other for the last time as single individual lovers. The next time they kiss, they will be man and wife. This is a photograph the couple always cherish."
So I want a second opinion....I was taking the "groom can't see the bride before the wedding" thing pretty seriously....but this sounds so....I don't know....I just think I like the idea, but I am not sure...what do you all think?
OH!!! look at the invitations I think I want...except, where it is purple, I would want them blue!!!
Isn't that PRETTY!!!!! I absolutely LOVE THEM!!!!! I sent the pic to Kelly (since she is going to be my matron of honor [my sister is my maid of honor]), but she hasn't responded to me yet...it sucks to be three hours away from the person who is supposed to help you plan your wedding!!! lol!
Okay, I guess I am going to go for now....bye!

Still catching up after not having internet working right forever! Anyhow, I love this idea and I would have done this if I had known about it 20 yrs ago. And the invites are gorgeous! Love them.
I am here from Kelly's. That is the new thing with photos and I have seen quite a few that way...and they are a little more personal and real....vs the "fake" smile done over & over throughout the night.
