Okay...so there is this job that Kelly told me about.....she found it online.....I want it SO bad!!!
We are looking for someone that is passionate about writing.
The job entails developing content for hundreds of niche websites. The content we need written MUST be valid and unique. Below is an example of one of our niche sites:
www.findrvinsurance.com
For this site, you'd be writing the content for the home page and state page.
Before applying, please browse through the entire site so you get a better understanding of what we need.
We will pay 18/hr
That is the post.....I want this job so bad....but I think I may be too scared to even apply!!! This could be the job that turns things around for me. This could be the job that helps me make my life what I want it to be! This could be the job that helps me be happy.....finally......
And I am too scared to think of anything to say to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What if they say no? What if I'm not good enough? What if it's a scam? What if I get all excited about this, and it doesn't happen?
I know I'll never know if I don't take a chance.....but how do I come up with just the right thing to say to MAKE them hire me???? How, in a simple email, can I convince them that I am the right person for this job???
Edit
Okay....I'm editing this post to share the email I FINALLY wrote with everyone. I decided that the only way to do it was just to do it, and so I did. I am SO worried about it.....and I really wish someone was online who could read it and give me some advice! LOL! But I am not sending it until tomorrow, so please everyone, feel free to give me some feedback.....criticism.....anything!!! LOL!
As I read the post on craigslist advertising this job, I was filled with many mixed feelings.
Curiosity: Are they really looking for someone who just loves to write? Apprehension: Could this be a scam? Excitement: Could this be the job opportunity I have been waiting for all my life? Amazement: Is it fate that I found this post now, when I am considering a change in job, career, and lifestyle?
Potentially, the answer to all four questions could be yes. I'm hoping for just three out of four, because a scam would seriously invalidate the other three possibilities!
I am not including my resume, although I will be happy to send it if it is requested. My resume is full of dull, 9 to 5, drone-type work that I am aching to escape. Don't get me wrong, I take a lot of pride in any job I do. I have never given a company less than my best, simply because it wasn't as exciting as the whip cream on top of my hot chocolate! I wonder, though...shouldn't there be more?
There comes a time in life when a realization is reached. You realize either (A) you are finally employed with a company you are proud of and in a job you like or (B) you have been wasting your time and are desperately unsatisfied. I can feel myself rapidly approaching category B.
When you reach this point in your life and an opportunity is tossed in your lap (or in my case, dropped on your head in the form of an unexpected post online), it's best to take advantage of it. That is what I would like to do; responding to this post is my first step. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take a chance.
So.......how does it sound?

I think it sounds great! Good luck, I hope you hear back from them quickly after you send the email. ~~Kath~~
I think it was just fine!! I'm so happy you did it. Either way you will be now worse off then you are right now. If they say no...you never had to meet them face to face and you stay where you are...no loss! If they give an interview then HEY! That's great! However...if they want money!! IT'S A SCAM! Even if it's just 5 bucks. Hopefully it's not. Good luck!! Can't wait to see how it goes for you.
I sent you an email! sounds great!
Kelly
